PRESS: MTS agrees to promote Asus smartphones in Russia
MOSCOW, Jul 13 (PRIME) -- Major Russian mobile operator MTS, which also runs a wide retailer chain, has agreed to become the main seller of Asus smartphones, business daily Vedomosti reported on Friday.
The agreement includes joint marketing and promotion of Asus smartphones. For example, MTS will send a cashback on an Asus smartphone to a buyer’s mobile phone account, offer devices in installments, and, possibly, special terms of lending.
Several Asus models will be exclusively offered by MTS.
According to a partner of some electronics sellers, Asus held about 2.5% of the Russian smartphone market in units in May. The share of the company’s smartphones in sales of brick-and-mortar stores amounted to 2% and at 5% in online stores.
